Where did it all start?

For those curious about where Florian began and why here’s our backstory.

Myself (Luke) and Joel work together in the Fire Service, have done for years now, and we both found ourselves in similar situations both in and out of work – on the same shift pattern, both family men, living local to one another and love a good laugh. Over many, many cups of coffee it became apparent we both had an interest in wanting to create something lasting, something that we could be proud of and that hopefully we can build for our families.

Whilst we wanted to commit ourselves to starting something, it was important to ensure it didn’t feel like ‘just another job’, it needed to be a passion project and that’s where our love for woodwork came front and centre.

After making some space, combining tool sets and a load of practice runs, we refined our offers and decided to go live. Thinking over a nice name we decided Florian Woodcraft was fitting, with St. Florian being the Patron St. of Firefighters. Putting that to our name would see to keep us accountable for our service, quality and professionalism.

So there you have it folks, a small blurb on how we came to be!
